Bio
My name is Yvette Jefferys and I love my ministry at St. Luke Catholic School. First and foremost, I am a teacher. In addition, I am the Principal of our awesome school. Having the opportunity to visit the classrooms and the school children, will not only keep me in touch with my students, but will also remind me, daily, of the importance of my job as a Catholic leader.
I am a product of Catholic education. I attended elementary school at St. Louis of France and then San Gabriel Mission High School. After graduation, I attended Cal Poly Pomona where I earned my Bachelor Degree in Liberal Studies. I then attended Mount St. Mary’s University to work on my coursework for my credential and Masters of Science in Education.
I have been a Catholic educator for 26 years, so I come to you with a plethora of experience. I was the teacher who began the Transitional Kindergarten Program at St. Luke Catholic School. It was absolutely the best year of my entire teaching journey. My little ones were simply fantastic, and I loved every single second of their school day. We learned our ABC’s, numbers, shapes, colors, fine motor skills, arts and crafts, how to nap, how to read and write, how to sing, how to have fun, play, and pray.
The administration, the faculty, and the staff are all on the same page when it comes to whom we serve. We are the parish school. We are here to serve the parish and meet the needs of our students. Our students are our number one priority. It is our job to educate them in a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment.
This year we will work hard, play hard, and pray hard! It is going to be a fabulous year, and we are all extremely excited to teach our students the foundation that will last them a lifetime, as well as instill a love for God in all they do.
