Bio
I believe in Catholic education; St. Luke Catholic School was my first home. I have been part of the Parish with my family since I was three years old. I attended St. Luke Catholic School as a Kindergartener and graduated from eighth grade in 2002. As a student, I was a member of the Academic Decathlon Team, Student Council, Altar Serving, Safety Patrol, the volleyball and basketball teams, and I was on the Honor Roll. I continued my Catholic education at Bishop Amat Memorial High School in La Puente, where I graduated with Honors. I feel that my Catholic education has instilled strong morals, determination, and leadership skills that continue to help me everyday.
I continued my academic journey at Whittier College earning my Bachelor Degree in Liberal Studies and was on the Dean’s List for academic honors. In my final two years at Whittier College, I was able to take classes that allowed me to take charge of the art program at St. Luke Catholic School. I began teaching art classes to grades K-8 at St. Luke Catholic School in 2009. During this time, I taught the Meet the Masters Program and developed new and revitalized lessons on some of the most famous Masters of Art. This experience not only taught about the artists and their work, but interested the students and got them more involved in the creative process.
After I graduated from Whittier College with my Bachelor degree, I decided to pursue my, Masters Degree. Through the Masters Program I not only advanced my education in Fine Art, but also studied Art History, Photography, Business, Economics, and Management Skills. I graduated with my Masters Degree in December of 2013. I hold a California Teaching Credential.
This year will be my 10th year at St. Luke Catholic School as a homeroom teacher. I am excited to start the new year as the 7th grade Homeroom, Jr. High Math, and Social Studies teacher. I am currently the moderator for Speech and Debate, a founding moderator of the Theater program, a co-moderator for the Graphic Design Team, Fine Arts and Logic coach for Academic Decathlon, and the Altar Server Coordinator for the Parish.
