Bio
I have served at St. Luke Catholic School for 30 years in a variety of capacities. As the Vice Principal of the school, I work collaboratively with the Principal to help instill Catholic values and morals to the leaders of tomorrow.
I serve as the Director of Daycare and the school Librarian. My extra-curricular responsibilities include: coaching current events for the Academic Decathlon Team, advising the Graphic Design Team, and advising the award-winning Robotics Team. Each and every day is packed with a variety of duties, classes, and fun.
I have deep roots at St. Luke Catholic School as my two daughters are St. Luke graduates. I enjoy working with the students and imparting knowledge to children who will make a difference in our world. Education is important to me and has been a continuous journey with my attendance at Grand Canyon University. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications. As a lifelong learner, I continue to explore new ideas and projects for computers, photography, graphic design, and robotics. I believe that “One can never stop learning and growing".
Robotics - Our robotics team was established in 2008 and I began as Robotics Moderator in 2009. I teach my students to design, build, and program robots. I currently have three competition robotics teams, and I am very proud of each team member for their accomplishments! In 2014, we commenced our first annual Robotics Summer Camp, and we had so much fun learning and building together. In 2015, we were California State Champions, and went on to compete in the World Robotics competition in Kentucky. In 2016, one team competed at the state competition level and three teams traveled to Iowa to compete in the U. S. National Robotics competition to compete against the best teams in the country. The Robotics team has traveled to Texas, Florida, Nebraska, and Iowa to compete in World and National tournaments.
Graphic Design - I began the Graphic Design Program in 2009. My Graphic Design students take pictures and produce all the pages for our beautiful school yearbook. They strive for excellence and amaze me year after year!
